About us
The history of our building
Completed in 1978, the building initially housed the College of State Administration and its successors. The Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, the maintainer of Corvinus University of Budapest, took possession of the building in the autumn of 2020 and started the renovation. The Corvinus Sport Center was an older sports facility with an indoor and outdoor sports field and a swimming pool.
The renovation of the Gellért Campus of the Corvinus University of Budapest was intended to create the university of the future. The aim was to create a modern, multifunctional facility offering a variety of sports facilities. The idea was that the Corvinus Sport Center would not only be a place for physical education classes, but also a community space where students and citizens alike could play sport and relax.
The Corvinus Sport Center opened in September 2024. The Sport Center of Corvinus University Budapest is operated by an external operator. The nearly 3,000-square-metre facility features a well-equipped gym with cardio and strength-training machines, as well as a variety of group classes. There are also indoor and outdoor team sports courts available. The Sport Center will also house a climbing wall, which will be available in November 2024.
